Rasas Fall at Rasika-śekhara's Feet


रसास्तदा ते रसरूपमग्रतो ह्यधःशयानं नितरां निरीक्ष्य तम् ।​
स्वयं तथा द्राक् प्रबभूवुरादृता विचार्य नूनं शकटस्थिताः किमु ॥वंशस्थम्॥​
[Meter: Vaṁśastham]​
rasās tadā te rasa-rūpam agrato​
hy adhaḥ-śayānaṁ nitarāṁ nirīkṣya tam​
svayaṁ tathā drāk prababhūvur ādṛtā​
vicārya nūnaṁ śakaṭa-sthitāḥ kim u​
Translation: When all the rasas ( = cow-milk etc.) situated on the cart saw that the very personification of rasa ( = spiritual mellows) had taken an inferior position and was lying down underneath them, they felt it unwise. ​
Thinking carefully about their actual position, did it so happen that [on the pretext of the breaking of the cart], the rasas themselves fell down and took a position inferior to the Lord?​
